Sussex overseas player for the entire 2020 season Travis Head has been named in Australia’s squad for their three-match Test series against New Zealand.
The series gets underway with a day-night match at Perth starting next Thursday 12th December, followed by the Boxing Day Test at Melbourne and the New Year’s Test at Sydney.
Travis is part of a 13-man squad for the series, with the omission of Cameron Bancroft the only change to the group that completed a whitewash in the recent two-match home series against Pakistan.
Such was Australia’s dominance in that series, Travis only played one innings. He made 24 in Australia’s only innings of the first Test at Brisbane.
The 25-year-old’s involvement in the Australian Test set-up won’t affect his season-long spell at The 1st Central County Ground next summer as the team’s only commitments between April and the end of September are three IT20s and three ODIs against England in July.
