Sussex Cricket is delighted to announce that Freddie Price has signed a Rookie contract from April 1st, for the 2027 season, following impressive displays for the Club during the Metro Bank One Day Cup.
Price, a 19-year-old all-rounder and former pupil at Millfield School, is another in a long list of players to come through the Sussex pathway and academy.
Making his debut at Durham in the opening fixture of the recently-completed One Day Cup, Price, facing an experienced batting cohort that housed Ben Stokes and Emilio Gay, quickly demonstrated his capabilities with a fine showing with the ball. He took his first wicket, too, by dismissing Ollie Robinson.
He featured in six of Sussex's eight Metro Bank One Day Cup fixtures this summer, taking at least a wicket in every match, and seven wickets altogether. With the bat, he improved as the tournament went on, finishing the campaign with a speedy 37 off 31 deliveries, and scoring a total of 85 runs.
This winter, he is set to travel to Australia to feature for Manly Warringah District Cricket Club in Sydney, where former player, Bertie Foreman, has played and, more recently, Sharks wicket-keeper batter, Mollie Adams.
