Lead the Future of Sussex Cricket
As the oldest first-class county cricket club in England, Sussex Cricket is steeped in tradition but firmly focused on innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity. They are now looking to identify a dynamic, visionary, and values-led Chief Executive to lead the club into its next chapter.
Combining elite performance with deep community impact across Sussex this is a rare opportunity to take the helm of a unique organisation that delivers first-class professional cricket, nurtures emerging talent, and drives meaningful change in communities through the Sussex Cricket Foundation.
The Chief Executive will provide inspirational leadership and strategic direction across all areas of Sussex Cricket. You will be responsible for the club’s sporting, commercial, operational, and organisational performance — ensuring long-term sustainability, relevance, and impact both on and off the field. Working closely with the Chair and Board, you will deliver the club’s strategic ambitions while championing cricket as a sport for all across Sussex.
The Chief Executive will be able to prove their previous experience, skills, and credibility to provide strategic leadership, support ongoing cricket performance, lead commercial and operational teams, provide sound financial management, champion all our people and protect our culture and be passionate about our community and stakeholder engagement activities.
As part of this we are looking for an individual with Senior leadership experience in sport, business, or complex commercial/membership organisations and proven financial and commercial acumen, including revenue growth and sponsorship. This will be coupled with a strong understanding of governance and regulatory frameworks, a demonstrated commitment to equality, diversity, and sustainability and ideally previous experience with community outreach or foundation leadership is highly desirable.
The professional cricket landscape and its challenges are more complex than ever before resulting in ongoing financial pressures on many clubs. With this in mind, we are looking for a visionary and strategic thinker with a collaborative, values-driven leadership style who can apply commercial acumen and previous experience of creating sustainable business models in an organisation that is at a pivotal time in its history. Resilient and decisive, with a track record of effective leadership under pressure you will ideally also have a deep passion cricket of wider sport’s role in strengthening communities.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen in the Sussex Cricket Foundation (SCF). We are looking for Community Cricket Coaches in Sussex to continue our mission of actively changing lives through the power of cricket.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering cricket-based sessions in a variety of locations across Sussex to schools, clubs and communities under the guidance of a Territory Manager.
Sussex Cricket is committed to safeguarding by protecting children, young people and vulnerable adults. As such, all relevant posts are subject to a vetting process, which requires up-to-date DBS checks and the provision of two work-related references.
