Sussex and England superstar Sarah Taylor has been nominated for Female Cricketer of the Decade in the International Cricket Council Awards of the Decade.
Sarah is in contention for the award alongside Suzie Bates (New Zealand), Meg Lanning (Australia), Ellyse Perry (Australia), Mithali Raj (India), Sarah Taylor (England), Stafanie Taylor (West Indies).
The other categories in the awards are: Male Cricketer of the Decade, Men’s Test Cricketer of the Decade, Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Decade, Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Decade, Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Decade, Women’s T20I Cricketer of the Decade, Men’s Associate Cricketer of the Decade, Women’s Associate Cricketer of the Decade and Spirit of Cricket Award of the Decade.
An ICC press release explains that “the nominees for each of the categories have been determined by the Awards Nominations Committee according to on-field performances and overall achievements for at least five years during the period.”
Supporters can vote for who they think should win in each category at www.icc-cricket.com/awards. Those that vote will be in with a chance of winning a trip to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 in India.
The fan vote will make up 10% of the voting, while votes from an expert panel will make up the remaining 90%.
