Sussex’s Ravi Bopara has been drafted by London Spirit for the inaugural edition of The Hundred this summer.
The all-rounder filled the Lord’s-based outfit’s final berth for their men’s team, a third-round pick at £60,000.
A behind-closed-doors draft for the remaining spots in the eight men’s teams was conducted on Monday, with the results being released over the course of Tuesday.
Ravi takes the total of Sussex players confirmed for the men’s The Hundred in 2021 to eight, with seven retained from October 2019’s original draft. The Hundred was scheduled to begin last summer, before the coronavirus pandemic forced the postponement of its first edition to 2021.
With the men’s rosters now complete, attention will turn to the team’s women’s squads, who have until June to complete their line-ups. So far, nine Sussex players have been signed.
The Hundred is scheduled to run from Wednesday 21st July – when Oval Invincibles and Manchester Originals women’s teams get the ball rolling at the Kia Oval – until finals day at Lord’s on Saturday 21st August. Full fixtures are available at www.thehundred.com
