Five Sharks picked for the Pakistan Super League

6 Dec 2019

Five Sussex Sharks will play in the Pakistan Super League next Spring after being picked up in Friday's draft.

After David Wiese was retained by Lahore Qalandars last week, Chris Jordan was the first Shark to join the South African in the tournament when he was chosen by Karachi Kings.

The England star, who won the PSL with Peshawar Zalmi in 2017, was picked in the Diamond Category.

Like Jordan, Ravi Bopara was also chosen in the Diamond Category, linking up with Multan Sultans.

The Englishman has previously captained Karachi Kings in the PSL, and has the best bowling figures in the history of the competition - 6-16 vs. Lahore Qalandars in 2016.

Phil Salt was the next Shark picked in Friday afternoon's draft - returning to 2019 beaten semi-finalists, Islamabad United.

Salt scored 98 runs in six innings during last year's tournament for United, and was part of a match-winning 93-run partnership alongside Asif Ali against the Kings.

Tymal Mills was the final Sussex player to be picked for the 2020 PSL, which starts on 20 February and runs until 22 March. The fast-bowler will return to Quetta Gladiators - the side he starred for in 2017.
