Danny Briggs has left Sussex following the conclusion of his contract.
The 29-year-old has opted to join Warwickshire after arriving in Hove fours years ago.
Briggs made 130 appearances for Sussex since joining from Hampshire in 2016, and became the leading wicket-taker in domestic T20 cricket when the Sharks beat Gloucestershire last summer.
In total, the spinner made 130 appearances for Sussex across all formats, taking 169 wickets and scoring 926 runs. He also captained the Sharks twice during the 2018 Vitality Blast.
Performance Director, Keith Greenfield said: “We are all disappointed that Danny will be leaving the Club, and not signing the multi-year contract extension that was offered to him in these challenging financial times for cricket and Sussex.
“We couldn’t have done anymore in this respect. Danny feels at this time joining another County is in his best interests, and we have to respect his decision.
“This summer has been a very difficult one for the club, but also for all players who have been on the last year of contracts with all the insecurity that it brings.
“We thank him for all his efforts and can only wish him well going forward with his new adventure.”
Everyone at Sussex Cricket would like to thank Danny for all his efforts in a Sussex shirt, and we wish him all the very best for the future.
