Alex Carey to miss Gloucestershire clash

Sussex Sharks overseas player Alex Carey will be unavailable for the team’s final group match in this year’s Vitality Blast against Gloucestershire at The 1st Central County Ground on Friday night.

He will keep wicket for the Australians in their three-day tour match against Derbyshire starting on Thursday, with Test ‘keeper Tim Paine rested.

Alex has not been formally added to the Ashes squad and remains available for the Sharks’ home Vitality Blast quarter-final on either Wednesday 4th, Thursday 5th, Friday 6th or Saturday 7th September.

Ticketing information for the quarter-final will be released once the date and time of Sussex’s match is confirmed by the ECB following the conclusion of Friday’s final round of fixtures
