Sussex’s Tom Haines has been shortlisted for the cinch PCA Men’s Young Player of the Year in recognition of his outstanding performances this summer.
The 22-year-old was the first batter to score a thousand runs in this year’s LV= Insurance County Championship and is the leading run-scorer in the competition as the final round gets underway.
As the contenders for the four, headline PCA Awards for 2021 were announced, the PCA described Tom as having “shown talent beyond his years as he has been rock solid at the top of the order for Sussex”.
Tom is up against Harry Brook of Yorkshire and Northern Superchargers and Sam Cook of Essex and Trent Rockets for the Men’s Young Player award.
In the absence of an in-person event, the cinch PCA Awards are being announced virtually throughout the final stages of the 2021 domestic season with a number of the competition award winners having already been revealed.
Tuesday 28 September will see the finale of the cinch PCA Awards with the four headline award winners being announced live on Sky Sports during lunch on the opening day of the Bob Willis Trophy final.
