Phil Salt receives England call-up

Sussex’s Phil Salt has been called into the England IT20 squad for their match against Pakistan in Cardiff on Sunday.

The 22-year-old batsman replaces Dawid Malan who has a muscle injury to his left groin.

Phil played a major role in Sussex Sharks reaching the final of last year’s Vitality Blast, contributing 355 runs from the top of the order at a strike rate of 172, the fourth highest among England qualified players with over 300 runs.

Those eye-catching performances led to spells in the Abu Dhabi T20 and Pakistan Super League over the winter.
