Jofra Archer has been included in a 17-man squad for England’s third Test against India in Ahmedabad next week, having missed the second Test with an elbow complaint.

The Sussex fast bowler received an injection to address discomfort in his right elbow last week and is now deemed fit to be considered for selection.

Jimmy Anderson and Dominic Bess also return after being rested from the second Test, while Zak Crawley is in contention having recovered from a wrist injury.  Jonny Bairstow and Mark Wood are included in the squad having arrived in India after a break from the first two matches of the current series. Moeen Ali is to return home for a break having been away with England since the beginning of the Sri Lanka tour.

The third Test – a day/night contest – gets underway on Wednesday 24th February. The four-match series is tied at one-all.
