Sussex supporters know Rashid Khan best for his T20 performances, but the leg-spinner highlighted his incredible skill regardless of format with eleven wickets in Afghanistan’s six-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in the second and final Test of their series in the UAE.

Batting first, Afghanistan piled on 545 for 4 declared batting first in Abu Dhabi. Sussex’s Vitality Blast overseas player then took 4 for 138 in 36.3 overs as Zimbabwe were dismissed for 287 in reply and asked to follow on.

A herculean 62.5 overs from Rashid brought him figures of 7 for 137 as Zimbabwe were dismissed for 365 in their second innings. Afghanistan were able to chase their target of 108 for the loss of four wickets to come away from the series with a 1-1 draw.

Rashid’s match figures of 11 for 275 represent his second ten-wicket haul in just five Test matches. He now has 34 Test wickets, including four five-fers.

The first match of a three match T20 series between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe takes place in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
