Cricket is among the many sports coming together to celebrate the return of supporters and remind all those attending of the important safety measures they will need to follow.
Fans have been hugely missed this year and as sports around the country look forward to welcoming them back to their venues from this week, organisations have come together for the ‘For the Love of Sport’ campaign.
As part of the campaign, England Men’s Test captain Joe Root and 2017 Women’s World Cup winner Anya Shrubsole appear in a video alongside sportsmen and women including Dominic Calvert-Lewin (football), David Coulthard (motorsport), Justin Rose (golf), Hollie Doyle (horse racing), Adam Gemili and Laura Muir (athletics), Johanna Konta (tennis), Tommy Makinson (rugby league) and many more to remind spectators what they need to do in a venue to ensure it is as safe as possible for themselves and others.
Sussex’s LV= Insurance County Championship match against Northamptonshire starting on Thursday 27th May will see supporters welcomed to The 1st Central County Ground for the first time since September 2019.
Sussex Cricket has put together a code of conduct for spectators attending the match and future matches this summer.
Ticket holders will also be sent a match guide, including safety measures and advice, ahead of their visit to make sure everyone knows what to expect.
