The Prostate Cancer Support Organisation, PCaSO, will be hosting a prostate testing event at the County Ground on Saturday April 18.
The event, which is sponsored by Brighton Lions Charity Club and Sussex Cricket, will run between 10am until 3pm in the Dean Wilson Boundary Rooms.
Men aged between 40-79 are encouraged to attend for a free PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) test, which is now a simple blood test. A blood sample is taken from a vein in the arm, then sent to a laboratory with results then emailed or posted to the patient.
One in two men will have a prostate problem at some time in their life, with risks higher for those of African or Caribbean descent or men over 50 with family history of prostate cancer.
Spaces for this event are limited, and pre-registration is required via this link.
Please note that no parking will be available at the County Ground, and those wishing to have a PSA test should refrain from any sexual activity or cycling for at least 24 hours in the run up to their appointment.
PCaSO therefore encourages the use of public transport for participants to get to their appointment. Alternatively, there is a multi-story pay-and-display car park nearby in Norton Road, Hove.
