24 Feb 2023

We’ve also got news of a century for Fynn Hudson-Prentice, a hat-trick for Sussex Women's Regina Suddahaza, a landmark for Cheteshwar Pujara and important runs for Delray Rawlins in his T20 World Cup Qualifier for Bermuda.

Danni Wyatt sets up semi-final with South Africa

Danni Wyatt’s 59 from just 33 balls against Pakistan on Tuesday helped England set the highest ever total in Women’s T20 World Cup history to crush Pakistan by 114 runs.

Wyatt was aggressive from the off and made her first half-century of the tournament in just 28 balls in the 12th over.

Sussex’s Freya Davies was also brought into the England team, making her first appearance of the World Cup, taking a catch in the field to help England to the historic victory.

England will now face South Africa in the T20 World Cup semi-final later today at 1pm. Go well, Danni and Freya!

Century for Fynn Hudson-Prentice

After speaking to the Club’s YouTube channel last week, Fynn Hudson-Prentice had mentioned that he hadn’t scored as many runs as he’d liked to this winter, but that changed this week when he made a brilliant century for Australia Club, Prospect.

Fynn’s 122 came from just 85 balls and the allrounder also picked up a wicket in each innings. You can check out the full scorecard here.

Regina Suddahazai takes hat-trick for Italy

Regina Suddahazai made her debut last summer for Sussex Women and is already making a name for herself on the international stage. Regina, who plays her Club cricket for Roffey and Anstey Women, took the first ever hat-trick in the European Cricket International Women’s T10 competition last week for Italy.

Captain Delray leads Bermuda to victory

Delray Rawlins put in a captains performance this week, making 91 runs from just 33 deliveries as his Bermuda side beat Argentina by 107 runs in the second of their regional T20 World Cup qualifiers.

Bermuda have won 2 from 2 so far and will play the Cayman Islands in the next game tomorrow. Good luck, Del!
