This week we have updates on several players who have decided to spend their winter playing cricket in Australia, as well as news of runs for Ollie Robinson against Pakistan. We also take a look at what players and coaches are in action in the Abu Dhabi T10 League.
Playing league cricket in Australia over the winter months provides the players with a fantastic opportunity to begin preparations for next year’s campaign in England.
Oli Carter was the first to make the trip to the other side of the world and is currently playing for Newcastle City 1st Grade and is already making an impact.
Having played fives for Newcastle City, Oli has made 4 half-centuries, coming ever so close to a century in his latest game, making 96 from 149 balls against Wallsend District Cricket Club in his first innings. Keep up to date with Oli’s games here.
Fynn Hudson-Prentice featured in his first game last week for Prospect District Cricket Club. He bowled 8 overs taking 2 wickets at an economy of 3.87. See Fynn’s fixtures and results here.
Ali Orr is also based in Adelaide this winter, playing for East Torrens. Ali played his first game this week, but today faces someone very familiar. Track his progress here.
Fynn and Ali will go head-to-head today as East Torrens take on Prospect. Read next week’s Winter Watch to find out who came out on top.
Robinson enjoying Bazball
It’s been a fantastic comeback year for Ollie Robinson, who forced his way back into the England Test team, helping them to beat South Africa earlier this year and taking 12 wickets along the way.
He is currently playing for England against Pakistan and impressed with the bat yesterday. Ollie made 37 fully embracing the Bazball philosophy, as England made an astonishing 657 from just 101 overs.
Day three of the Test gets underway at 5am tomorrow morning.

Garton helped the Samp Army get off to a flying start as he made 14 from just 4 balls to secure a 15-run victory in their opener against the Bangla Tigers.
He followed up again in their second game against the Delhi Bulls, making 12 from 12 as Samp Army ran out 8-wicket winners.
Samp Army made it 3 from 3 as they beat the Chennai Braves, before losing game four to the New York Strikers.
