In this week’s Winter Watch, we recap on another international century for Cheteshwar Pujara, a match-winning knock for Danni Wyatt and yet another outstanding victory for Ollie Robinson and England in Pakistan.
Pujara takes on Bangladesh
Cheteshwar Pujara was back in action for India this week, as they take on Bangladesh in the first of two Test matches this month.
And it comes as no surprise to mention Puj’s form has continued into the winter. He made 90 runs from 203 deliveries in the first innings, followed by an unbeaten 102 from just 130 balls in the second innings.
India declared on day 4, with Bangladesh going into the final day needed a mammoth 513 runs to win.
India will also play a four match Test series at home to Australia in February and March 2023, before Puj returns to The 1st Central County Ground for another summer of County Championship and One Day Cup cricket.
Wyatt continues to shine for England
On Sunday night Danni Wyatt made 59 not-out for England Women as they beat the West Indies Women by 8 wickets in the first T20I in Antigua.
After an excellent bowling display from England that restricted the West Indies to just 105-7 from their 20 overs, opener Wyatt made her unbeaten 59 runs from just 34 balls as England reached their target with 7.2 overs to spare.
England followed up their first win with another in the second T20I on Wednesday, beating the West Indies by 16 runs. Sussex's Freya Davies picked up a wicket on her first appearance in this series, finishing with figures of 1-16 from her 3 overs.
Robinson relishing time with England
England pulled off another Test victory in Pakistan in quite spectacular fashion once again, with Ollie Robinson playing another important role in securing their first Test series win in Pakistan since 2005.
Ollie followed up his wicket in the first innings with another 2 in the second, taking the final wicket needed to give England a 26-run victory on the fourth day of the Test.
England now lead the series 2-0 going into the third and final game in Karachi on 17th December.
