With another season cricket over, the Sussex squad will be travelling around the world to play various forms of cricket to keep them ticking over until the 2024 campaign gets underway. This week we have news of back-to-back half-centuries for Oli Carter, who has returned to Newcastle City in Australia following a successful winter last year, which saw him pick up multiple awards for his performances for the club.
Also, we tell you which Sussex Women players to look out for in the Women's Big Bash League which got underway yesterday.
Carter continues form into winter
Oli Carter enjoyed a fruitful summer with the bat for Sussex in the County Championship, accumulating 779 runs at an average of 38.95 and making 7 half-centuries and has carried that form over for Newcastle City in Australia.
Carter's first appearance for the Club saw him make 50 from 46 balls in the first round of the Rippit Premiership, only to follow it up the next week with an unbeaten 74 runs helping to ensure Newcastle City made it two wins from their first two games.

Sussex Women trio take on the Big Bash 2023
The Big Bash 2023 is back and it got underway yesterday in Australia and this year three of our own Sussex Women's players will be featuring.
Linsey Smith will be playing for the Sydney Sixers, overseas signing from the summer, Nicole Faltum will be with the Melbourne Stars and finally, Georgia Adams will be representing the Adelaide Strikers.
