The time has come for you to cast your vote ahead of this year's End of Season Awards, which features players from both Sussex Men and Sussex Women.
James Coles
He's 21, obscenely gifted, and has a sparkling career ahead of him. A fine half-century at Edgbaston in his first innings of the season set the tone, and 890 runs and a further few bat raises later, he's the fifth-highest run scorer in Division One this season. But it's his consistency that has been all the more impressive: an average just shy of 50 combines with three centuries. And there's still three games to play...
John Simpson
Of all the great captains to play for Sussex, John Simpson's name must be in the conversation. An exemplary wicket-keeper batter who leads the team with brilliance and decorum, Simpson is Sussex's second-highest run scorer in the County Championship with an average of 58.06. His 354-minute stint out in the middle in the opening day of the season was utterly brilliant, and behind the stumps he holds the second-most dismissals in Division One with 44. A class act all round.
Fynn Hudson-Prentice
Hark back to that April afternoon when Hudson-Prentice promptly took four wickets – including two with his first two deliveries - to leave Somerset reeling at 62-5 at the close. It was an excellent spell, but the all-rounder has shone with the ball in hand for the entirety of the season. Finding that line and length with utmost consistency, he's taken the second-highest number of wickets for the club in Division One and has absolutely earned the right to be there. A smattering of half-centuries, too, makes the 29-year-old a genuine all-rounder.
James Coles
Transferring his form over to the shorter format, Coles was the Sharks' leading run scorer in Vitality Blast this year, blitzing 397 runs at a strike rate of 158.80. It all commenced on the opening night: smashing a career-best unbeaten 77 from 44 balls to set up a winning start to the Blast at Lord's. Explosive with the bat, effective with the ball; this year's T20 Blast campaign for Coles was exceptionally good.
Tom Clark
Despite impressing once again during the Blast, it was the One Day Cup where Clark delivered his best cricket. The Sharks' leading run scorer in the competition, bolstered by his brilliant 139 against Lancashire at Hove, the 24-year-old capped the competition with a quickfire 82 at Edgbaston. Another successful year.
Nathan McAndrew
Well, he showed up. The overseas star's 23 wickets in Vitality Blast came at an average of just 16.60, and featured a destructive spell at Sophia Gardens where the fast-bowler collected career-best figures of 6/21. He certainly flexed his muscles with the bat, too. McAndrew's third spell at the club was arguably his most fruitful.
Rachel King
It didn't take long for Rachel King to hit the ground running in Sussex colours. In the Vitality Blast alone, King blasted 201 runs off the bat at an average of 67, placing her 7th for most runs scored amongst all batters in the division. Her consistency at the crease was impressive, and that strike-rate of over 150 spotlighted her power and precision.
Chiara Green
Leading the team and leading the wicket column, captain Chiara's eight wickets at an average of 19.25 placed her with some of the very best bowlers in the competition. It wasn't just her ability to take wickets, though, for her economy rate of just 5.31 shows how parsimonious a spinner she is. The skipper would go on to claim best-figures of 2-11 against Kent, encapsulating her full capabilities on the pitch.
Izzy Collis
While Collis may not have been able to raise the bat in the format this year, a collection of fine innings and divine ball striking still placed the opening batter in the top 15 of highest run scorers in the competition. A high score of 30, her 154 runs in total demonstrate the impressive consistency Collis displayed with the willow in grasp, and she can be proud of getting the Sharks off to a multitude of fast starts in the Blast.
Anna Buckle
In a league teeming with bowling talent, Anna Buckle's performances with the ball in hand were up there with the very best. Metronomically accurate, her often destructive spells placed her in the top five for bowlers in One Day Cup League Two. It's been a breakout year in truth, and a really, really positive one, too.
Mollie Adams
The daughter of Sussex legend Chris and sister to Georgia, Mollie has been a sensation at Sussex this year. 270 runs to her name is an impressive feat, but a century at Worcestershire and an average around the 50-mark show just how exciting a talent the young wicket-keeper batter truly is.
Chiara Green
Nine wickets, 166 runs and a fantastic leader. The captain has led by example this year in all competitions which, provided that the foundations for this Sussex side are still being laid, shows just how far they have come in a short space of time.
