Tymal Mills was today called up to the England T20I squad for the three-match series against India. We spoke to Tymal about T20 cricket for the Sharks and what it's like to play alongside stars of the game.
After another busy winter playing in the IPL for Mumbai Indians, Mills is excited to be back at Hove again for another summer with the Sharks and says he can’t wait to get started.
“It’s been a really good winter and I have played a lot of cricket, but it’s always nice to come home and play here in front of the crowd at Hove. I’m excited for another busy summer in England.”
Although he picked up a slight ankle injury whilst away in the IPL, Mills has played plenty of cricket in the past 12 months and will be ready to go when we take on Glamorgan here at Hove on May 26th.
“I had a slight ankle niggle towards the back end of the IPL, but Mumbai were great and allowed me to come home early to recover in time for the T20’s with Sussex. I’ve played more cricket in the past 12 months than in any other year, so I am feeling great and ready to get going.”
Speaking on the Sharks’ squad for 2022, Mills is delighted to see a team full of world-class cricketers alongside some exciting young prospects: “We always have a strong T20 side, we have plenty of experience in myself, Ravi, Wrighty and we have some fantastic overseas boys joining us in Riz, Philippe and of course Rash.
“If you sprinkle in some of the youngsters like Archie, it’s a really nice blend and the Sharks fans have plenty to be excited about.”
