James Kirtley’s thoughts
“We were probably 15 or 20 runs short against Glamorgan, and maybe we were a little rusty. The spinners bowled well, and we managed to take the game quite deep.
“It was a great performance from Rizwan, that’s what you want from your overseas players, to come in and perform in that way.”
Reflecting on the Gloucestershire defeat, Kirtley added: “We started well but we let them have too many runs, they hit 13 sixes compared to our 3 so that is a big swing in a game of T20 cricket.
“Steven Finn was brilliant with the ball, we started really nicely with the bat, but credit to Gloucestershire.
“It hurts to lose but we have to use that hurt to spur us on tomorrow and start to get into the winning habit. A year ago two games into this we were two wins up and things were going well, so we need to wrestle that momentum back into our favour.
“It is all about how we come out and show that inner-desire to change things, put on a performance and deliver the win.”
