Sussex vs Durham: Spectator information

It's day two of Sussex's LV= Insurance County Championship season opener against Durham. If you’re coming to support the team, we’ve put together all the information you need to make your visit as smooth as possible.

Please note that tickets for day 2 are sold out and cannot be purchased on the door. Please only come to The 1st Central County Ground if you have a ticket or Membership.

When to arrive

The action gets underway today at 11:00am, with gates opening for spectators from 9:30am. Intervals take place at lunch (1:00pm – 1:40pm) and tea (3:40pm – 4:00pm) with each day’s play expected to end at 6:00pm.

There are two main entrances to The 1st Central County Ground. You can access our main gate via Eaton Road adjacent to the development and former site of The Sussex Cricketer Pub. Alternatively, you can access the ground via our North Gate at the end of Palmeira Avenue.

If you require a ticket on the door on day 3, please use the Eaton Road entrance. 

Please note: If you are coming to watch Sussex on day 2 (Good Friday), please arrive in good time and have your tickets ready to be scanned, as we are expecting a full house in attendance. If you are a Sussex Member, simply show your Membership Card.

Seating information

Seating is unallocated for this event. We ask that you enjoy the match from the area of the ground you have selected when purchasing your ticket. If you are unsure on the day, please ask a steward.

A pavilion ticket (or valid membership) must be shown to use the seating within the Spen Cama Pavilion. If you have accessible requirements, please contact us prior to making your purchase on 01273 827100.

Hospitality information

For those of you who will experience the opening game with one of our Premium Hospitality packages, entry will be granted from 9:30pm, with pastries served from 10:30am.

Both Cow Corner and the Spen Cama Hospitality areas will close 15 minutes after the end of play.

How to get here

The 1st Central County Ground is accessible by road, public transport and on foot, however no spectator parking is available on site, therefore we recommend travelling by public transport or on foot if possible.

Food and beverages

Spectators are permitted to bring a maximum of four 500ml cans of beer/lager or a 75cl bottle of wine per adult for the County Championship match against Durham.

Visitors can also bring in their own food, however there will be food outlets at both the North and South ends of the ground to purchase hot food, tea’s, coffees and sweet treats.

Cashless venue

We’d like to remind all spectators that The 1st Central County Ground is now a cashless venue. This means that only card or contactless payments will be accepted (including Apple Pay and Google Pay) throughout our venue. This will apply to all outlets at Hove, including food and beverage kiosks, ticketing, membership and our Club Shop.

Retail shop

Visit our Club Shop where you’ll find a range of Sussex merchandise including replica shirts, training kit, bats, balls and much more. The shop will be open during the game and will close at 5pm.

Free scorecards

If you enjoy filling in your own scorecard, we’ve got you covered. Free scorecards are available at various locations across the ground, including at the gates and in the Club Shop.

Ticket information

Tickets for day 3 are still available to purchase online however tickets for day 2 (Good Friday) are sold out, therefore no tickets will be available to purchase on the door on this day.

Tickets for day 4 will be made available depending on the status of the game on Saturday (day 3).

You can also purchase tickets over the phone by calling 01273 827100 between 09:00am and 5:00pm Monday – Friday.
