Ahead of the 2022 season Sussex Cricket are pleased to announce that The 1st Central County Ground, Hove has moved to a cashless operation.
After a phased rollout at the ground last year, the switchover means that only card or contactless payments will be accepted (including Apple Pay and Google Pay). This will apply to all outlets at Hove, including food and beverage kiosks, ticketing, membership and the club’s retail shop on both match days and non-match days.
By moving to a cashless system supporters can take advantage of a more convenient match day experience with a quicker speed of service and a more secure payment option.
Cashless payments are on average six to seven seconds quicker than transactions by cash meaning you can benefit from shorter queuing times allowing you to get to your seat and miss less of the action out on the field.
Furthermore, the cashless option provides added security to supporters as cash is more easily stolen or lost and removes the need to exchange physical objects, which makes for a more hygienic experience.
To help the transition our new partnership with Kappture will see the introduction of state-of-the-art Electronic Point of Sale devices, both fixed and mobile around the ground.
Ahead of the rollout Sussex Chief Executive Rob Andrew said, “This is another significant step in modernising the match and non match day experience at Hove.
“Despite the challenges of Covid we have continued to invest in the ground with our conference and events partner, Sodexo Live! and are looking forward to developing our relationship with Kappture.
“We look forward to welcoming everyone back to Hove this summer for both cricket and non cricket events.”
Our first pre-season friendly will take place at Hove on Wednesday 23rd March, start time 11.30am.
