To celebrate the birthday of head coach, Jason Gillespie, Sussex Cricket are launching ‘The Wicket World Cup’ on the club's official Twitter account to find the best wicket taken during ‘The Dizzy Years’.
Since Gillespie took over at the club in November 2017, a host of iconic wickets have been taken, and with the help of Dizzy we have selected 16 of the very best to face off against one another in knockout tournament style.
Over the next three weeks, fans will be able to relieve incredible wickets taken by the likes of Jofra Archer, Ollie Robinson, Rashid Khan, Ishant Sharma and Tymal Mills, and vote for their favourite on Twitter from 10:00am each day.
Some wickets have been selected because of sheer brilliance shown with the ball, while others have made the cut to celebrate and remember incredible moments.
Up first on Monday: an unstoppable Mir Hamza delivery against Durham last summer vs. Robinson's last in a historic haul of 14-135 against Middlesex at Hove.
You will have until 5pm each day to cast your vote in each fixture, with the tournament culminating on Friday 8th May. Make sure you get involved to decide the greatest wicket of ‘The Dizzy Years’!
