Looking ahead to our second match of the summer, club captain Ben Brown said: “It will be another exciting challenge against Kent.
“I think they’re pretty much full strength from what I can see, so it will be a great challenge for us as a young side to go to a Division One team.
“We’re really up for the challenge and when you’ve got a win under your belt, you go there with confidence.”
After not being included in the squad to face Kent, batsman Laurie Evans has joined Surrey on a one-week loan deal ahead of the London club's Bob Willis Trophy match against Essex.
The opposition
Kent have named a 14-man squad for their first Bob Willis Trophy match on home soil, with captain Sam Billings returning to the side following his time with England.
Our hosts narrowly lost their opening match of the campaign in a thriller against Essex, with the county champions securing a narrow two-wicket victory late on day four.
Heino Kuhn, who scored a fantastic 140 at Chelmsford, misses out for Kent as he awaits the birth of his first child, while Matt Milnes, who also impressed with four first-innings wickets, is rested.
Kent squad:
Sam Billings (c), Daniel Bell-Drummond, Jordan Cox, Tim Groenewald, Calum Haggett, Fred Klaasen, Jack Leaning, Marcus O’Riordan, Harry Podmore, Hamidullah Qadri, Imran Qayyum, Ollie Robinson, Darren Stevens, Ivan Thomas
