The Sharks have the opportunity to bounce straight back from their Vitality Blast defeat against Gloucestershire on Wednesday with a trip to Lord’s this evening to take on Middlesex (6.15pm start).
For tonight’s fixture, Jason Gillespie will select from the same 14-man squad that was announced ahead of yesterday’s fixture.
Sussex were probably one batting partnership away from setting a defendable total last night as exemplified by a fine bowling and fielding performance that forced the league leaders to work hard for their four-wicket win
Laurie Evans’s 46 from 36 deliveries was the high-point of the Sharks innings. Those runs take the right-hander to fourth in the tournament averages (minimum five innings).
Rashid Khan’s 2-14 from his four overs during Gloucestershire’s chase means that the Afghanistan leg-spinner is now the most economical bowler in the tournament (minimum ten overs).

Batsman Dawid Malan (England duty) and bowlers Nathan Sowter and Tom Helm (injury) are unavailable for Middlesex tonight, but Steven Finn returns to their twelve-man squad after overcoming a sore knee that kept him out of his side’s defeat to Somerset on Sunday.
Middlesex squad: Eoin Morgan (captain), Ashton Agar, Tom Barber, Stephen Eskinazi, Steven Finn, James Fuller, Nick Gubbins, James Harris, Max Holden, Ravi Patel, John Simpson (wicket-keeper),Paul Stirling.
