Today Sussex pays tribute to Matthew Hobden on what would have been his 30th birthday.
Matthew made his Sussex debut in a one-day match against Nottinghamshire in 2013, before going on to make his first-class debut for Sussex in 2014.
He went on to play 10 County Championship matches in 2015 and was named in the fast-bowling group for the Potential England Performance Programme.
Sussex continue to honour the memory of Matthew at The 1st Central County Ground with his image displayed for all to see on the Shark Stand.
Adjacent to the outdoor nets by the groundsman's facilities is a memorial tree which spectators can visit and remember him when at the ground.
Once a Shark, always a Shark. Rest in peace, Matthew.
