Today Tymal Mills and Ravi Bopara became the 155th and 156th players to be awarded their Sussex County Caps prior to the start of the T20 Blast match against Glamorgan at The 1st Central County Ground.
It was a special moment for both players as Ravi was presented his cap by Sussex legend and former England teammate Luke Wright, whilst Tymal was presented his by Club legend and friend, Michael Yardy.
Ravi has played an astonishing 442 times for several teams in the T20 domestic format across the world and in some of the biggest and best tournaments the game has to offer, affirming himself as one of the standout white-ball players of his generation.
He has also had a fantastic international career, featuring in 38 T20I’s, 120 ODI’s and 13 Test matches for England.
Bopara has amassed over 8000 T20 runs in domestic competitions, taking 262 wickets and after joining Sussex from Essex in 2020, was named T20 captain of the Club in 2022.
Like his teammate Ravi Bopara, Tymal Mills also joined Sussex from Essex.
Tymal joined in 2015 and has gone on to make 74 T20 appearances for the Sharks, taking 103 wickets, meaning he is currently just 4 wickets away from becoming the all-time leading wicket-taker for the Sharks. Only Will Beer (106) has taken more.
And just like Ravi, Tymal has gone on to be one of the greatest white-ball players in the history of the game, known for his ability to ball at the death with devastating effect.
Sought after by so many T20 franchise teams, he became one the most expensive player in IPL history in 2017 when purchased by the Royal Challenger Bangalore.
Just last winter, Tymal achieved the greatest honour in the international game, when he was part of the England squad that won the ICC T20 World Cup.
Congratulations, Ravi and T! #SharkAttack
