Phil Salt and Luke Wright reach Innings World Cup semi-finals

30 May 2020

The semi-finals of our inaugural Innings World Cup have been confirmed, after Phil Salt secured his second spot in the last four on Saturday.

Salt's 137* against Kent in last year's One-Day Cup beat Ben Brown's unforgettable century at Lord's, and joins his own 138-ball 148 vs. Derbyshire, Luke Wright's 92 at Finals Day and and the Sharks skipper's 166 vs. Middlesex in the final four.

The innings, which were chosen as the best played by Sussex batsmen since Jason Gillespie arrived at the club, received over 24,000 video views and more than 2,000 votes over the last two weeks.

Our quest to find the best innings played during ‘The Dizzy Years’ continues on Monday, with the first semi-final seeing Salt's championship ton take on Luke Wright's knock vs. Somerset! Voting will open at 10am on Twitter
