Pathway players raise over £4,000 for Motor Neurone Disease Appeal

Three Sussex Pathway players have helped raise over £4,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Appeal after playing cricket for 24 hours.

Anish Padalkar, Oliver De Havas and Mali Bardoi-Lewis have raised £4091.80 by spending 24 hours in the nets over the weekend - with the figure still rising.

The boys, who attend Worth School in Crawley, decided to do the challenge after a teacher and friend were diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. 

There is currently no cure for MND, with approximately one in 50,000 people in the UK developing the disease every year.

MND is nearly always fatal, affecting the brain, nerves and causing weakness, but the 24 hour cricket challenge will help fund pioneering human trials with the hope of eventually finding a cure.
