The National Counties Showcase fixture against Oxfordshire has been abandoned after 31 overs due to heavy rain.
Having won the toss and elected to bowl, Oxfordshire struck early to remove Harrison Ward in the third over when he was pinned lbw by Dylan Driscall.
Ward had opened with Sussex Academy player batter, Henry Rogers, who went on to make a half-century on his debut in the Sharks first team.
His 73 from 74 balls helped propel the Sharks to 137-2 from 22.4 overs after he shared a second wicket stand of 127 runs with Tom Alsop, before rain stopped play for a second time in the innings.
Play resumed with Alsop on 50 not-out, joined by captain Tom Haines and the pair set about scoring quickly before play was halted once again.
Alsop accelerated to 90 from 77 balls, while Haines made a run-a-ball 26 before the covers came on, with 31 overs bowled and the Sharks on 204-2.
The rain continued to fall heavily, and umpires decided no further play could take place.
