Sussex Cricket is delighted to announce that allrounder Fynn Hudson-Prentice has been awarded his County Cap prior to the start of today's LV= Insurance County Championship match against Gloucestershire.
The special announcement was made this morning as the players came together to watch and listen to Sussex legend and coach, James Kirtley, present the cap to Fynn. He is the 157th player in the Club's history to receive the accolade.
Having grown up in the County, Hudson-Prentice made his debut for Sussex in 2014, before switching to Derbyshire for two seasons in 2019. However, when the chance arose, he returned back to his home County to play for the Club he grew up supporting.
After a campaign that was blighted by injury last season, allrounder Fynn Hudson-Prentice had a fine season with the bat in the County Championship, averaging 47.52 from his 20 innings, with a high score of 73. He has accumulated 808 runs, including 8 half-centuries and has also played an important role with the ball, taking 19 wickets.
As it stands, he is the leading run-scorer for Sussex in the County Championship, needing 192 runs from the final game which starts today, to hit the 1000 run mark.
Congratulations, Fynn! #GOSBTS
