In two weeks time The 1st Central County Ground will play host to a historic weekend of disability cricket, with back-to-back fixtures taking place at Hove, and the best bit...tickets are free of charge to all spectators.
The first match will take place on Saturday 11th May and will see the Sussex Sharks VI (Visually Impaired) team take on Northamptonshire in a rescheduled cup final from 2023.
That will then be followed by a D40 Quest League fixture between Sussex D40 and Lancashire on Sunday 12th May.
The flagship weekend will take place during the Foundation’s Disability Cricket Month, which will showcase the players, teams, volunteers, and programmes which help to make up disability cricket in Sussex.
Both the Sussex D40 and VI teams kicked their seasons off this weekend, with Sussex VI Sharks taking on London Metro and Sussex D40 facing Cricket Wales.
Ahead of the season, hear from Sussex VI Sharks stars, Mark Bond and Dan Field about trophies, new kit and playing at The 1st Central County Ground
