Get set for a huge summer of women’s cricket at The 1st Central County Ground. England and Southern Vipers are both playing two matches at the home of women’s cricket in 2021.
After an enforced absence in 2020, England are back on the south coast for IT20s against India and New Zealand. On Sunday 11th July, Heather Knight’s team take on India in the 2nd Vitality IT20. The tourists will be playing their first T20 at Hove and as World T20 finalists will surely provide a stern test.
Then, on Saturday 4th September it’s the turn of New Zealand to take on England at The 1st Central County Ground in the 2nd Vitality IT20 of their series. The White Ferns have triumphed in both their previous IT20 matches against England at the venue and will be looking to make it three in a row. An England squad likely to feature Sussex stars Danni Wyatt, Freya Davies and Georgia Elwiss will have other ideas.
The best in the domestic game will also be on show at Hove this summer. Defending their Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy title, Southern Vipers are in 50-over action against Central Sparks on Saturday 5th June. There’s also a chance to catch the Vipers in the brand-new regional T20 competition when Georgia Adams’ side take on the Sparks again on Wednesday 25th August.
