Three young rising cricket stars from Brighton Aldridge Community Academy (BACA) have earned an incredible opportunity to showcase their talent at the World Junior Cricket League held at the world-famous Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the UAE.
Representing both BACA and Sussex Cricket, the trio — Louie Lawrence (Year 12), Harri Brayshaw (Year 12), and Oliver Mason (Year 11) — will take to the field alongside some of the best young cricketers in the world, competing against elite under-18 teams from across the globe.
This first-of-its-kind international junior franchise league marks a milestone moment for the players and for BACA’s
renowned Cricket Academy.
Principal Jack Davies said:
“I’m immensely proud to see BACA students competing on the world stage. It’s a huge inspiration to their peers and a testament to the incredible cricketing talent being nurtured here at BACA.”
Mark Robinson OBE, Director of Cricket at BACA, added:
“Playing in the dry heat of the Emirates on different wickets, surrounded by international players, is a fantastic learning experience. We wish our BACA boys the very best, we’ll be cheering you on from back home!
BACA’s Cricket Academy is one of the leading state-school cricket programmes in the UK, offering students a
pathway into the professional game - all without school fees.
