This weekend sees the restart of the Aldridge@BACA Sussex Women’s Cricket League Premier League, with Division 2 starting later in May, following its successful debut season in 2023. This summer 18 teams will compete across a Premier League formed of 6 teams and Division 2 formed of 12 teams.
One new Premier League team and five new Division 2 teams join our league this summer, to build on the successes of the newly formed league structure for women, giving all players a pathway to fulfil their potential.
Hailsham CC join the Premier League following a successful 2023 campaign, whilst Fernhurst, West Wittering, Cuckfield, Horsham 2nd XI and Burgess Hill 2nd XI join Division 2 which is expanding to 12 teams.
Defending Premier League champions, Horsham CC, start the defence of their title taking on Brighton & Hove CC in two T20s.
The Premier League season is split between T20 & 40/40 fixtures, whilst Division 2 is split East & West playing 30/30 fixtures.

Charlotte Burton, Cricket Development Officer and Women & Girls Lead for Sussex Cricket said: “It is fantastic to see the league growing after just one season, it shows the pathway structure we have for women and girls’ cricket is working and that more Women’s teams want to play a longer, more competitive format of Cricket.
"There were some close matches last season and I know the clubs have worked hard on developing their players over the winter, which makes for an exciting season ahead with 126 matches due to be played this summer in just the Aldridge@BACA Sussex Women’s Cricket League alone.”
We would like to thank Sussex Cricket President, Sir Rod Aldridge, for his continued support to the Foundation and growth & development of Women & Girls Cricket.
