Sussex Cricket is delighted to announce that BBC Radio Surrey & Sussex commentator Adrian Harms was named the Christopher Martin Jenkins ECB Domestic Broadcaster of the Year for the 2021 season.
Adrian is a familiar voice to those who tune into the Sussex Cricket livestream on matchdays, as well as those who listen to BBC Radio Surrey and Sussex.
The ECB Domestic Journalism awards took place in March 2022, with the Sussex Cricket Society hosting a celebratory lunch at The 1st Central County Ground on Wednesday 14th December.
The aims and objects of the Society are "To further cricket interest and enthusiasm and to provide a source of contact between cricket lovers and to promote and conduct meetings, social functions and other gatherings."
New Head Coach, Paul Farbrace attended along with Sussex Chair Jon Filby to present Adrian with his award.
What the ECB judges said:
“Adrian combines real warmth in his commentary with a good facility for language and excellent technical insight.
"His knowledge of the players and their stories is exactly what you want from a county cricket commentator, and the judges were impressed by his ability to convey the big moments in a captivating manner.
"He celebrates the county game in the best way.”
