Women's Softball Festivals

Women’s Softball is a fun and sociable format of the game designed to encourage more women to play cricket, either for the first time or to return to the game. Our softball festivals give lots of short pairs cricket games where everyone has a chance to bat and bowl. Playing with a full-size plastic bat and softball, it opens up the opportunity of playing to women of all ages, skill levels and fitness.

In 2019 we ran 24 softball festivals around Sussex with 758 women taking part.

In 2020 we will continue to run festivals that are ultimately non-competitive social event, open to all women to just come and play, either on their own or with friends. Teams of women soft ballers can enter and compete against each other in these festivals as well.

For the first time we will be running a Women’s softball league to run alongside the festival days, these will be for teams/women who want to play softball in a more competitive environment. Clubs can enter teams, along with women not linked to a club who want to enter a team into the competitive league, which will all be localised league matches with a final’s day at the end of the summer.

Please complete the entry form for the Women’s Softball League if you wish to enter a team by the 31st January.

For further details on our Women’s Softball festivals or league, please contact our Women and Girls Development officer, Charlotte Burton, charlotte.burton@sussexcricket.co.uk

Why not give it a go for 2020!
