CHANCE TO SHINE

We are currently in our fifth year running the Chance to Shine Secondary School Girls programme, where we deliver a cricket and leadership programme to 13 schools across Sussex. 

Each school selected for this programme will receive a 36 hour programme, which consists of the following: 

• Two hours School Inductions
• Eight hours of curriculum taster sessions for years 7, 8 & 9
• Five hours of leadership sessions for KS3 (years 7/8)
• Five hours of leadership sessions for KS4 (years 9/10)
• Six weeks of Extra Curricular coaching sessions, with the support of the KS4 leaders
• Fours hours of “Skills” competition sessions
• Six hours of pathway sessions – which will be hard ball taster sessions (unique in Sussex) 

On top of this we will provide 7 hours of Teacher Training to the schools, along with Indoor and Outdoor Chance to Compete One Day tournaments. 

In Sussex we understand that going from a school to a club that plays hard ball cricket can be quite daunting to a girl, so we wanted to make that transition from a school setting to a club setting much easier, so with the pathway sessions we are providing hard ball tasters for girls, which is unique to any other county delivering chance to shine.
