Webtrends Optimize extend Sussex Disability Cricket Sponsorship

The Sussex Cricket Foundation is delighted to announce Webtrends Optimize have extended their sponsorship agreement to become the front shirt sponsor for all three Sussex Disability Cricket teams, the Super 9s, D40 and VI (Visually Impaired) Sharks.

Players from all three sides were present at the Sussex Cricket Media Day on Wednesday 29th March, alongside Webtrends Optimize, CEO, Matt Smith.

Participation in disability cricket continues to rise across the County with more opportunities available to access the game through funding from Lord Taverners and support from Webtrends Optimize.

Last year, the Sussex D40 side made history, becoming were a part of the first ever disability cricket fixture to be played at a first-class venue, when they beat Surrey D40 at The 1st Central County Ground.

Over 300 spectators witnessed Sussex’s Alfie Pyle make 162 as Sussex beat Surrey 118 runs.

The Sussex D40 team will return to The 1st Central County Ground once again when they take on Middlesex on Sunday 18th June 2023. Tickets are free of charge and can be reserved here.

Gary Wallis-Tayler, Community Cricket Director, said: “I am delighted to have extended our agreement with Webtrends Optimize.

Their support is invaluable and has given us a platform to raise the profile of disability cricket across the County.

We now have a structure in place that now enables players to start in our Super 9s and move all the way to our D40 or successful VI teams and hopefully go on to represent England in the future”.

Matt Smith, CEO of Webtrends Optimize, added: “I love that we are able to support the Sussex Cricket Foundation in the great work that they do in raising the profile of Disability Cricket across the county and beyond.
