Tymal Mills has been unveiled as Sussex’s representative in The Cricketer’s forthcoming Quarantine Cup.
Tymal will be competing against professionals from ten other counties on the PlayStation 4 game Cricket19 in a tournament that begins on Sunday 12th April.
With the professional season delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak, The Cricketer - in collaboration with the county game – has devised the competition to provide supporters with some form of live cricket to fill the void.
In a draw made on Monday morning, the competing teams were split into two groups, with the top two from each progressing to the semi-finals.
Group 1 contains Hampshire, Essex, Gloucestershire, Nottinghamshire, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire.
Meanwhile, Sussex, Glamorgan, Surrey, Leicestershire and Kent make up Group 2.
Tymal is the first participant to be revealed, with other counties’ representative to be announced over the course of the week. A number of high-profile commentators will also be unveiled.
Matches will be be staged on weekdays at 7pm and weekends at 2pm and 5pm and live-streamed on The Cricketer’s YouTube channel.
