Our opposition
Our hosts this week boast similar form and sit just once place below us, having welcomed a new coach in at the start of this season, Alan Richardson’s side opened their account for the season, beating Derbyshire by 8 wickets in the first round of the County Championship.
That result was followed by a dramatic defeat on day four of their match against Durham, all thanks to the spin of Matt Kuhnemann and his final-day five-wicket haul.
Worcestershire then picked up a draw away at Gloucestershire in a match impacted by the weather.
Farbrace’s thoughts
“I am really delighted to have Steve Smith in the squad for this game, and the next three, it is brilliant to have such a world class player and bloke in our team.
“I am also very pleased to have Ollie Robinson back in the team for these next three games.
“We are playing excellent cricket and putting in good performances, but we will need to continue to play well and maintain high levels of skill at Worcester this week.
“They are an excellent team, and we will need to play well to get anything out of the game.”
