Sussex Cricket is delighted to announce the signing of Michael Burgess on loan from Warwickshire for the T20 Vitality Blast.
Wicket-keeper batter Burgess, who previously had a stint at Sussex, will be available for the entirety of the Blast campaign and joins up with head coach Paul Farbrace once again.
After being signed by Sussex in 2017, he went on to record two first-class centuries and five half-centuries, before making the move to Warwickshire in 2019.
Burgess was also part of the Sussex team that made it to T20 Finals Day in 2018 and recorded his highest T20 score of 56 during the group stages against Essex, helping Sussex to a 36-run win at Chelmsford.
Speaking on the move, Michael Burgess said: “I am very excited to be coming back to Hove, a place I have very fond memories of from my time down there.
“I’m looking forward to meeting up with the group and getting started on Friday.”
Sussex head coach, Paul Farbrace, added: “I’m delighted to be able to add a player of Michael’s quality to our team for the start of this competition.
“He has been the standout keeper in county cricket over the last few seasons. He will bring fantastic knowledge from a great environment at Edgbaston.”
