Sussex Cricket has donated a total of 500 tickets to the charitable organisations Blue Light Tickets and Tickets for Troops.
Each organisation will receive 250 match tickets to this Friday’s T20 Vitality Blast match against Gloucestershire at The 1st Central County Ground in Hove.
Blue Light Tickets is a free service that was created to give back to the blue light community. Through working with venues, sports teams, attractions, festivals, and concerts, they aim to offer NHS, emergency service employees and the wider blue light community free tickets as our way of saying "Thank you".
Commenting on the partnership with Sussex, Tom Dalby, CEO of Blue Light Card said: "We're delighted to be teaming up with Sussex Cricket to be able to provide our members with free tickets to this summer's games.
“The Blue Light community does so much for everyone else, it's great when we can do something for them too. Thank you to Sussex Cricket for helping us to support others."
Sussex Cricket have also partnered with Tickets for Troops, a charitable organisation that aims to provide those who serve in the Armed Forces, those medically discharged post 2001 and next of kin of those who have passed as a result of their service, an opportunity to attend events with the friends and family.
A spokesperson for Tickets for Troops commented: “We are thrilled to be teaming up with Sussex Sharks and to be able to offer a fantastic cricket experience to members of the UK’s Armed Forces.
“Our troops are working harder than ever to keep us safe and secure, and this kind of generosity goes a long way in recognising and rewarding those who make such sacrifices on our behalf. We are very grateful.”
Mark Judges, Commercial Director for Sussex Cricket added: “Sussex Cricket is more than just a cricket club, we pride ourselves on supporting our community to ensure everyone can say I feel part of Sussex Cricket.
“The past few years have been incredibly difficult for everyone, therefore being able to partner with two fantastic charities and give back to their service users is fantastic.
It is great to say thank you by providing the opportunity to watch Sussex Sharks at The 1st Central County Ground in the T20 Blast.”
