Sussex Cricket Foundation and 1st Central launch umpire challenge

16 Jun 2020

In partnership with 1st Central, Sussex Cricket Foundation have created the #SCFClubUmpireChallenge.

Following the ECB recently releasing a free online version of their Stage One Umpiring course, the SCF and 1st Central have set local clubs the challenge of seeing who can get the most members signed up and through the course over the coming weeks.

In a time when we are all missing cricket and waiting patiently for its return, it's hoped the #SCFClubUmpireChallenge will engage you and your club's competitive spirit!

To get involved all you need to do is:

1. Sign up for the course here

2. Ensure you select your club when prompted in the registration page

3. Complete the course once you receive the access to the e-Learning portal (the course takes 3-4 hours to complete and can be done in bite-sized chunks!)

4. Encourage your team mates and fellow club members to do the same!

The club that gets the most members signed up to the course by July 31 will receive a signed bat, while the club that gets the most course-completions by August 31 will receive 18 cricket balls courtesy of 1st Central.

More information regarding the courses can be found here
