Sussex announces historic End of Season Awards

Sussex Cricket Announces End of Season Awards for Men's, Women's and Disability Cricket Teams Sponsored by Webtrends Optimize

Sussex Cricket is proud to announce that for the first time in the Club's history, the 2024 End of Season Awards will celebrate the achievements of the Men's, Women's and Disability cricket teams. 

Sponsored by Major Partner, Webtrends Optimize, the event will take place on Monday 30th September at the Amex Stadium and will feature awards categories sponsored by Dentalbuild and the Aldridge Cricket Academy.

Each team will have a number of players nominated for awards in the following categories:

• Player of the Year, Sponsored by Dentalbuild
• Sparkling Moment of the Year, Sponsored by Ridgeview
• Most Improved Player of the Year, Sponsored by the Aldridge Cricket Academy

Members and supporters of Sussex recently had their chance to vote on Player of the Year and Sparkling Moment of the Year for the Men's team, and Sparkling Moment of the Year for the Women's team.

The remainder of the awards will be decided by the respective coaching teams.

The Club will also celebrate the Sussex Seniors Over 70s, who won the Over 70s Vase this season. 

Speaking on the historic event, Sussex Chief Executive, Pete Fitzboydon said: "Sussex Cricket has many teams: some enjoy a higher profile; some are volunteer run; across a variety of ages, impairments, genders and formats. 

All are different, but all are unmistakably Sussex Cricket. 

"For the first time we will be bringing the entire club together to celebrate the seasons of all of our teams in one united awards evening, on a level playing field. 

"This is part of our move to unite the entire organisation behind a single, Sussex Cricket mission as one club. Every person vital. Every person equal.

We are delighted that some of our key partners have extended their support to help bring this vision to life, and so I would like to offer thanks to Webtrends Optimize, Dentalbuild, Ridgeview and the Aldridge Cricket Academy.
