Following the publication of the roadmap for the return of recreational cricket, changes have been made to the 2021 Vitality ECB Women’s County T20 fixture list.
An anticipated limit of 30 people within a ‘playing bubble’ make the previous plan for three teams to play each other at one venue in each round impossible.
As a result, the playing schedule has been amended so that only two teams will be at each venue per round, resulting in double header fixtures.
The playing groups remain the same, meaning that Sussex will still compete in Group 5 – South East against Essex, Hampshire, Kent, Middlesex and Surrey with each side taking on four of the five other teams over four weekends in April and May.
As a result of the COVID-19 situation, this summer’s competition is being played in regional groups to minimise travel and overnight stays and as such there will be no promotion or relegation.
Sussex will play their home matches on Sunday 25th May and Monday 3rd May at the Sir Rod Aldridge Cricket Centre at Brighton Aldridge Community Academy. Away venues are yet to be confirmed and will be added to our fixtures page once confirmed.
