The behind-closed-doors fixture was originally scheduled to take place at The 1st Central County Ground but was moved to the Ageas Bowl to provide extra time for the outfield at Hove to recover from recent issues.
Championship and one-day coach, Ian Salisbury has named a group of 13 for the trip along the coast.
Sussex squad: Ben Brown (capt.), Tom Clark, Jack Carson, Henry Crocombe, George Garton, Tom Haines, Sean Hunt, Stuart Meaker, Delray Rawlins, Ollie Robinson, Phil Salt, Aaron Thomason, Stiaan van Zyl
Ahead of his side’s final tune-up, Salisbury said: “I was really happy with the two days at the Oval. Training in the marquee has been brilliant, but to actually get out in the middle was sensational. All 12 players were outstanding. Everybody batted well, everyone bowled well.
“Off the field the guys were superb as well, leaving the dressing room spotless and everyone around the ground saying what a friendly and polite bunch of cricketers Sussex have. It was a dream two days for a coach.
“Looking ahead to the next two days, we’ve got a 13 going to Southampton. It’s good to welcome back Ollie Robinson into a Sussex shirt after his winter with England. Stuart Meaker and Phil Salt will play also, while Scott Lenham and Jamie Atkins drop out.
“We’ll bowl for Thursday’s 90 overs and then have a bat on Friday. Last year we played a lot of good cricket over two days, so I’ve asked the lads to carry that on into what can be viewed as days three and four of our preparation for the first Championship game.
“Thanks to Giles White and Adie Birrell at Hampshire for welcoming us at short notice.”
Play is scheduled to start at 11.30am on both days. A live stream, as well as video clips of key moments, stats and a scorecard will be available on the Sussex Cricket Match Centre.
