Chair Jon Filby presents Sussex grounds staff with award

Today at the lunch interval, Sussex Chair Jon Filby took a moment to recognise the brilliant work the Sussex ground staff have carried out at The 1st Central County Ground over the past season.

Grounds Manager Ben Gibson and his colleagues; Chris Geere, Gordon Coree, Tom Price, Luke Ackroyd-Stevens, Will Bowley, Jack Harrington, Tom Wareham-Grinstead, and Brian Sandalls were presented with the Sussex Chair's Award for their outstanding endeavours in 2023. 

The team have worked tirelessly to ensure the team have had the best possible playing surface this season and thoroughly deserved the award which was presented to them in front of the pavilion and Sussex Members. 

Speaking on the grounds staff's efforts, Sussex Chair Jon Filby said: "Each year I present an award to an individual or a team within the organisation who deserve recognition for the work they carry out at The 1st Central County Ground.

"I know everyone here will agree that we have the best outfield in the country here and fantastic playing surfaces, which is a huge credit to Ben and his grounds staff here at Sussex."
