On Tuesday 29th November Sussex Cricket CEO, Rob Andrew will be one of three speakers from Cricket discussing a number of important topics within the game, such as the ECB High Performance Review and the impact on player care.
The event will be held at The View from The Shard in London and will also feature talks from Mark Chilton (Director of Cricket, Lancashire CCC) and James Harris (Chairman, PCA).
Some of the discussion points will include:
- What are the clubs’ views on the HPR?
- From a financial / commercial perspective, what are the major challenges the HPR presents?
- Change in sport is always met with political and traditional values leading the opposition. What are the challenges you’re presented with from this perspective?
- It’s clear that the sport demands change to become more sustainable, what do you think is the best solution?
- The HPR places focus on a fixture schedule that allows more time for players to recover and improve welfare. What are your thoughts on the balance between allowing players more recovery time, versus players capitalising on the commercial opportunity that comes with playing a lot of tournaments abroad?
The event will be hosted by Premier Sports Network, and moderated by Dharmesh Sheth.
